of losing the biggest hero in our lives, our dad. Luckily my dad has been such a
positive influence in our lives that we have been left with lessons to make us
stronger, wiser, and overall more compassionate people. We have all vowed to
live our lives giving 110% and being the best person that we could individually
To be completely honest I had no idea how to do that. In
fact, the idea of waking up and putting any effort into random acts of
kindness, smiling at strangers and even seeing life in a positive light was the
last thing I wanted to do. Its a strange thing a body feels while going through
a tragedy. The only way I can describe it is that my body and mind craved
darkness. I wanted nothing more than to just shut down. Lucky for me, I was
blessed with such an amazing family and the greatest friends that shutting
down was not a possibility. Though the dark road was the easier one to
take, it just simply wasn't an option. So I decided, not only that I was going
to live my life to the fullest, but I was going to live up to the legacy of my
pops, which is not an easy thing to do. My dad was love. At his memorial, that
is what people had to say. I remember thinking what an amazing compliment that
probably was to his life. As I watched two churches packed with people
affected by the life of my dad celebrate him I was truly touched.
So I wanted to live in my dads legacy and I wanted to continue
my goal of brightening the world using SoLoved., but what next? I came up with
the idea to create a SoLoved. team. I am so excited by the response that we got. We have successfully
built a team consisting of 9 people. I couldn't ask for a better team to help SoLoved. Brighten the World.
Every team member is unique and different, and has a passion for bettering our world.
And I have complete faith that we will make an impact, a difference, and spark a chain reaction.
I really just can't get over how great it all is. When Joc and I volunteered at the shelter on Thursday
we helped the shelter organize their resources a bit and we were able to make 6 boxes of meals for a week
for different families in need, and that was only one day of work. Imagine what the entire team
will be able to do within three months.
So here is to bettering ourselves and bettering our world
here is to great things happening
You are SO loved.
